Civil Requirements for Irish Citizens

The following documents are required:

Certificat de Coutume (certificate stating that you are free to marry). It is issued by the Consular Section of the Department of Foreign Affair in Dublin.

Completed Statutory Declaration (MP2)

Long Form Birth Certificate

Passport or Certified copy

You need to bring all the documents to the Department of foreign Affair in Dublin. They will check documents and if everything is OK will authorize, by email, the Irish Embassy in Rome to issue the Nulla Osta. We will get in touch with Irish Embassy in Rome to check that everything is OK and as soon as Nulla Osta is issued our coordinator will pick it up or will send it to the town hall or Church where you will get married.

Some town halls require a declaration before your wedding and this case you need to plan your arrival few days before your ceremony.  We will advise you with ample time should this be required.

IMPORTANT

1 -Statutory Declaration must be made and signed in the presence of:

- A Notary Public, a commissioner for Oaths or a solicitor (if you live in Ireland)

2 -A Diplomatic or a consular Officer of Ireland, or a Notary Public, a commissioner for Oaths or an equivalent person authorized oaths or declarations in that place (if you live abroad)

3 - The Embassy suggests applications be made about fours months prior to the wedding, while the Nulla Osta will be issued about one month before the wedding.

4 -The Embassy recommends the forms be type out, or clear and eligible handwriting be used. It is also fundamental a complete return address is included.

5 -All documents in languages other than English should be translated and if not in original photocopies should be authenticated.
