Alghero Wedding: a charming medieval citadel, with seven defensive towers
and the capital of Coral Riviera (named after the coral found on the seabed).
This bustling little town offers more than just beautiful white sandy beaches and
crystalline waters. Tradition combined with modernity and a mild climate make
it a fascinating place to visit all year round.
The Catalans and the Spanish occupied this corner of Sardinia for 400 years and
a strong impression was left not only in the architecture but also in the language.
The predominant flavor here is Catalan, with its flamboyant churches,
wrought-iron balconies and narrow cobbled streets named in both Italian and
Catalan. Narrow paved and cobbled walkways lead to piazzas with restaurants,
bars and shops.
Along the narrow cobbled streets of the old part of the town there are the
workshops of the famous craftsmen, who work the coral of Alghero.
Inland, the city is flanked by leading vineyard Sella & Mosca, is renowned for
premium wines made exclusively from estate-grown grapes.
The long, sandy beach, sheltered by quiet pine forests, stretches beyond the
marina, fringed with bars and hotels. Few km. from Alghero there is Capo Caccia
, one of the wildest places in Sardinia, where nature is still uncontaminated.
This the perfect place for diving enthusiasts: the sea water is crystal-clear and
the submerged caves are full of colorful fish and sea plants including red corral.
Alghero Wedding is a perfect choice for a unique wedding in Italy!
