This Church stands on natural promontory, a sheer drop to the see. The views from its terrace is unforgettable the rocks and the blue of the sea and the sky blends in a scenery of extraordinary and rare beauty.
The church was built in 1277 on the foundations of a pre-existent pagan shrine of the sixth century to Venus Erycina (From which the name Portus Veneris derives).
It is reached by a long flight of stairs with incomparable view of the ocean. Pure 13th-century Genoese Gothic on the outside, it is painted black and white, a centuries-old landmark for fishermen at sea. The interior is simple with windows opening to the blue sea.
The Church holds up to 40 persons and is the ideal location for an intimate and small wedding.
