A romantic first class Hotel overlooking the Grand Canal and situated in one of Venice's most charming and atmospheric areas.
It was built in 1638 and originally hosted the first "Ridotto Pubblico", a place where nobility and other people (adventurers, courtesans, swindlers, and travelers) retired for pleasure and intrigue. It was open during the six months of Carnival and was run by nobles, who abided by very strict rules involving the use of the masks by those who frequented the rooms. Giacomo Casanova considered this place the ideal backdrop for his conquests. During the 19th and 20th century the Palace it become a Dance Hall and a Theatre. The recent restoration has managed to revive, with a contemporary feel, the atmosphere of this historic building.
Interiors are warm and in very refined Venetian style: marble floors, gilded mirrors, Murano chandeliers, precious fabrics, frescoes and antique furnishings in both the public areas and guest rooms. Unrivalled views over the Grand Canal make this hotel very romantic.
Cuisine here is one of the best in Venice and the restaurant is frequented by international clientele but also by Venetians who choose it because of the its excellent food. Famous for fish specialties but also for excellent pastas and delicious dishes which capture the taste and the tradition of the finest Venetian and Italian Mediterranean cuisine.
Three options are available for an unforgettable reception: the refined main restaurant or the "Ridotto" beautifully restored with original colors and masterpieces of fine frescoes. The Ridotto houses 9 halls of different sizes, ideal for deluxe wedding receptions. From late spring to early autumn is available also the Terrace Restaurant facing the Grand Canal.
