This treasure of medieval architecture was first built in 1100. In 1840 Lord John saw it and fell in love. In the course of 15 years he rebuilt the castle from the ground up and what emerged is a Romantic vision of a Feudal castle, with craggy walls, dragons, coats of arms, beautiful wrought-iron lamps and braziers, medieval frescoes and decorations and an eclectic and lovely mixture of furnishings.
The Castle is surrounded by a a park with trees, Cypress trees amongst the pines and holm-oaks, creating an unusual mix of conifers and deciduous trees.
Your reception can start with a cocktail in the Italian garden terrace admiring Florence at the sunset and later a romantic dinner either in the lovely courtyard with a multitude of candles creating a unique atmosphere, like in ancient times, or in the spectacular Ballroom.
If you wish to breath the romantic air of the castle during the night, you may sleep in one of the four suites in the castle and in the tower. Can you imagine a more romantic setting for your wedding reception?
