On the western end of Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast) Palau is a beautiful sea village surrounded by many charming small sandy coves and a wonderful crystal clear sea water.

The most famous area of Palau is Porto Raphael, established by the count Raphael De Neville. It is a charming small touristic area in front of La Maddalena island with elegant white villas that become visible from the luxurious gardens. In the summer its small picturesque square has become a meeting place for VIP. A few miles after Palau, Capo DŽOrso (Cape of the Bear),so called because of a giant rocks with the curious shape of a bear.

In the touristic harbor of Palau is easy to book a boat to visit the wonderful archipelago of La Maddalena and you can even rent a romantic sailing boat with a skipper. La Maddalena is a natural reserve with stunning beaches and wonderful small islands. The most famous one is probably Isola of Spargi (island of Spargo) where the sea changes colors from spot to spot leaving you speechless.
