The Borromeo Islands are verdant jewels floating idyllically in Lake Maggiore. Of the three islands twp remain Borromean domains, while the third one, the Fishermen island, is part of Municipality of Stresa.
The island is about 350 meters long by 100 meters wide, with a population of about 50 people. Inhabited since the 16th century it is practically a small village of fishermen on an island. Although only few families still go on with the original activity, the identity of the small community appears still intact. Still today you can see old fishermen sitting in front of their flat-bottomed boats mending nets.
Our spouses are always fascinated by its narrow cobbled lanes, the simple but colourful houses, the stone portal, the fishermen's nets s and the many attractive restaurants and cafes.
This is one THE place for a magical photoservice.
