Luxury destination wedding in Rome at the top of Spanish Steps

Just imagine, in a clockwise direction within 500 yards the hill you can find the Circus Maximus, the Caracalla Thermes, Forum Romanum, Monte Testaccio, the River Tiber. This is Palatine hill! Since antiquity, the area has been sought after real estate and been the location for sumptuous villas and temples. Nevertheless, it has always retained a certain understated style which is still evident today.

Hotel Hassler was originally a noble house and then converted into a church in the 5th century. It has undergone many renovations across the centuries but the most charming features have been preserved: the five bell-tower, the Renaissance cloister and the sumptuous interior.

The church inside has beautiful Cosmatesque work on the floor, statues, Byzantine icons, and a Romanesque crypt. Bright, full of light and in pastel colors, the Church is a dream. Perfect for large groups it can be also intimate and romantic for small parties.

Outside, a romantic terrace overlooking the river and the dome of St Peters Basilica is a fabolous backdrop for a wedding photo shooting, especially at sunset.

Hotel Hassler offers plenty of spectacular locations for a truly lavish event. In particular:

  • The roof-top terrace of the Penthouse Suite. One of the most luxurious suites of the hotel offers a large terrace with a breath-taking view of the Eternal city able to accommodate up to 80 people. Our favourite venue for a truly glamorous event.
  • The panoramic roof-top terrace. A splendid terrace at the 7th floor able to accommodate up to 33 guests (round tables) or 26 guests (rectangular table); ideal for an intimate destination wedding in Rome.
  • Medici Hall – A large elegant hall with soaring ceilings and two large 19th-century paintings able to hold up to 150 guests.
  • Capre Hall- with an oval plan and furnishings in light and bright tones, it is ideal for small events, being able to hold a maximum of 30 guests.
  • Sistina Hall - recently renovated has a maximum capacity of 70 people.
  • The panoramic restaurant Imàgo – The main restaurant of the hotel is available for private parties and events only at lunchtime for up to 70-80 people.
